Public vs. Private Institutions -Jeff Grim and Erica Townsend

How different are public and private institutions? Jeff Grim and Erica Townsend of Washington University in St. Louis facilitated a discussion about the differences between public and private universities, offering opportunities for candidates to participate and share their experiences. Topics of difference included: university mission, governing boards, interpretation of guidelines, funding, structure, religious affiliations, and the economy's influence on job availability and security. Candidates were able to gain more insight into how to determine the right institution and environment for them. Research the campus, its student and staff populations, and seek out answers to questions that are important to you in choosing an institution.
